Finally, that dream materialized when I had the incredible opportunity to fly above the stunning snow-capped mountains and land at the Kushok Bakola Rimpochee Airport in Leh, Ladakh. As someone who was born in Kumta, a coastal town in Karnataka known for its high humidity and sweltering temperatures, this experience was surreal. It took me a solid 24 hours to acclimatize to the sub-zero temperatures, during which I felt like I was in house arrest!
Despite the challenges, this adventure has fueled my passion for exploration. I look forward to sharing more about my experiences amidst the Himalayas and all that it has taught me.
After spending 24 hours in Leh, we finally set out to explore its enchanting streets. It felt like stepping into a Shangri-La, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes that took my breath away. The stunning monasteries, intricate stupas, flowing rivers, and charming heritage streets filled with a tapestry of multi linguistic tourists made this experience truly unforgettable. One of the highlights was the delightful surprise of meeting Kannadigas, far away from home—over 3000 kilometers apart! It was such a fortune to encounter fellow travelers and share stories in this magical place.
